RocklandMD Surgery Centre is a private contracted surgery centre in operation since 2006.
With our 8 operating rooms, 2 endoscopy rooms, and a cystoscopy room, we offer an environment that allows numerous surgical procedures in a variety of surgical specialties. Our surgical activity is based on service agreements with the public sector.
Over 100,000 procedures have been performed to date at the RocklandMD Surgery Centre.
About
RocklandMD Surgery Centre is a pioneer in collaboration with public network establishments in surgery.
In 2007, RocklandMD Surgery Centre was the first in Quebec to establish a partnership agreement with a public sector hospital through a 108 agreement for performing surgeries outside the hospital.
Thanks to its acquired surgical experience, RocklandMD Surgery Centre not only performs surgeries considered routine but also undertakes more complex surgeries, including:
- Metabolic surgery including vertical gastrectomy
- Spinal surgery
- Hip and knee arthroplasties
- Prostate surgery for benign prostatic hyperplasia
- Laparoscopic gynecological surgery and robotic surgery in the fields of general, bariatric, gynecological, and urological surgery
RocklandMD Surgery Centre is a teaching centre.
RocklandMD Surgery Centre hosts, according to current agreements, residents from the medical faculties of the University of Montreal and McGill University, as well as surgical fellows from Canada and abroad. RocklandMD Surgery Centre is designed to meet the needs of surgeons and anesthesiologists to perform their work under optimal conditions.
The operating rooms operate for a minimum of 8 hours each day.
We schedule our team’s working hours so that the rooms can operate continuously without interruption during mealtimes.

RocklandMD Surgery Centre, with its 8 operating rooms, 2 endoscopy rooms, a cystoscopy room, its equipment, and its team of health professionals, offers the public network additional surgical capacity. It allows public network surgeons and anesthesiologists to perform outpatient surgeries in nearly all surgical specialties in an environment that strives to ensure the safety of both healthcare professionals and patients.
RocklandMD Surgery Centre has undergone several Accreditation visits, having received the highest distinction each time: Accreditation with Honors.
The health network and the need for access to surgery and endoscopy services

The Centre serves the public network and contributes to reducing surgical waiting lists and optimizing the availability of surgical services. For any health establishment or surgeon dealing with long surgical waiting lists, the Centre offers the possibility of performing outpatient surgeries in virtually all surgical specialties in a safe day surgery environment. We provide our partners with a seasoned team of professionals, state-of-the-art facilities, and equipment.
We have been working in partnership with public health establishments for over 16 years. Over the years, we have gained extensive experience.
We have worked with surgeons and anesthesiologists from almost all hospitals in the greater Montreal area and affiliated with one of the two medical faculties, University of Montreal and McGill University.
Endoscopy.
RocklandMD Surgery Centre has its own endoscopy clinic. It is equipped with two endoscopy rooms, an observation room, its own medical device reprocessing unit, and the latest generation of Olympus colonoscopes and gastroscopes.
The proximity of the endoscopy clinic to the operating room offers the advantage of additional safety thanks to the presence of surgeons and anesthesiologists in the adjacent surgical rooms.
